Roxbury offers excellent transit options with three rapid transit stations and access to the Orange Line, complemented by around 30 nearby bus routes providing great connectivity. The neighborhood features a well-developed cycling network and numerous bike-share stations spaced just a few blocks apart. Residents benefit from proximity to a variety of shopping choices including specialty groceries, as well as many dining and café options that enhance daily living. With over 100 public green spaces such as Washington/Malcolm X Park, outdoor relaxation is close at hand. The neighborhood’s vibrant atmosphere includes entertainment venues and lively main streets like Blue Hill Avenue for evening activities.

Roxbury is a "jack-of-all-trades" when it comes to the ambience of this part of Boston. This area has many streets to discover. There are a very large number of people around most of the time, a wide variety of entertainment venues can be found nearby, and with its a few bars, it is easy to find a place to grab a drink as they are generally located a short distance away. Blue Hill Avenue in particular offers a vast selection of places to go out at night. Roxbury is good for those who like a quiet atmosphere, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamor, however some parts can be quite noisy, especially close to the railway line. It is very easy to get to parks from the majority of locations within the neighborhood, since the majority of properties have one around the corner. There are over 100 public green spaces close by for residents to enjoy, like Southwest Corridor Park and Franklin Park II.
